Whenever I get a dream like that that incorporates some part of the real world into it, I always wonder how long the dream actually took. Like did the sound happen and then my mind created a dream that seemed like it gradually progressed over a few minutes but in reality it was all in my mind in an instant, beginning the second the alarm rang.
I often wonder if dream time corresponds to real life time. Or if a dream that seems like it unfolds over a hour really happens in a fraction of that time. It must because the REM part of the sleep cycle is shorter than my dreams seem to be to me.
