I switched about 8yrs ago and while I still have a few disable blades that I mainly use when I travel, I won’t ever go back to them permanently. I have hundreds of Feather, Personna, Astra and one of the smoothest in most razors the Gillette 7 o’clock super platinum. I have maybe a dozen of various vintage Gillette twist too open (TTO) and adjustable that I rotate through. But my favorites are the Above The Tie SS razors with various heads. These things are solid and will last multiple life times. I switch between them depending on couple of day stubble, daily or looking for a truly BBS (baby butt smooth) shave.
After a little while you’ll start collecting plenty of shaving creams.
I keep this old leatherman box in the bathroom with a variety of blades to choose. I keep my nice razors and stash of blades in a separate closet away from bathroom humidity.
