make sure you have your hotel accommodations booked in monterey area. Although several car events are not taking place this year, they are forecasting record attendance to all remaining events.
I always have a canvas bag of stuff, I use the canvas bag as its easy to store upfront near the jack but also easy to find things in the middle of the night on that stretch of freeway with no lighting:, Wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, duct tape, knife, wire, fuses, fuel relay, extra oil, gloves, towel, small sections of hoses, clamps, flash light ( I keep one in tool bag and maglight under the seat, jumper cables, ...... blanket and pillow- just in case!! and a AAA membership doesn't hurt.
Make sure your wiper blades are good and have the fire extinguisher up front with you
