Once your in PNW you'll notice there are only two choices for crossing Idaho. If you take the northern route you can drop into Yellowstone at the top and drive down into the Tetons. Turn east on 287 and climb along some beautiful peaks to Lander WY. That's about the same latitude as Chicago. Continue east.

If Canada was open, I'd take Highway 1 to Lake Louise and then down thru the Canadian Rockies. (One of the most breathtaking drives I've ever done.) Continue through Glacier Nat. Park and then on to Yellowstone.

Before you start out, try to collect the name and number of the head of each PCA region along your path. Can be an invaluable resource, particularly if you have Porsche problems. They know all the best people.
