I have 2 996 turbos. The both turbos on the 02 are quieter and the right turbo is also quiet. Plus it gets quieter as the engine warms up. All 4 nuts connecting the muffler are tight and I’m sure I replaced the o ring gasket. The headers where badly dented and cracked. I hoped that was the source but after replacing the manifolds the noise is still there.
Oh well. Thanks to Covid and work from home I’ll have time to drop the motor for a more thorough inspection.
