Not sure what kind of trimming you need to do. Mostly palms here and I use a Hackzall by Milwaulkee and a ladder. If they are too tall for my comfort threshold, I hire someone.

I also have a pole saw by Corona with a fiberglass handle that telescopes for the high up stuff that isn't too involved.

For lower stuff I use an Echo double-sided gas powered 2 cycle hedge trimmer. I used it this morning at one of my accounts and it worked great, as it always does. I also use an Echo gas powered 2 cycle chain saw if need be. 16" bar.

I've heard good things about the E-Go product line for cordless battery power tools but I've always been a Ryobi guy myself. But I don't use one so can't personally testify. Sorry.

There's a lot of hand-held power tools out there. A LOT!
