I would LOVE to see any of these knit-pickers speak for 90 seconds on a world stage and then see how its torn to shreds by their "peers".
I grew up in the south and have extensive "naw-ledge" and "s'pozure" to the
Derelictionary from which many of these words are derived.
Believe me, passing judgment on a person based on the mispronounciation of words is shallow. I'm sure someone here can gleefully point out my gramatical errors.
BTW, we have a new manager at my work and a couple of months ago he had a meeting with the MRI team. He referred to 'Nuculer Medicine" while speaking. He's new to the diagnostic imaging arena and a good guy. We gave him a heads-up on the text pronunciation. That is about the only time I would correct someone on that word. Heck, I hear Nuc Med Techs say "Nuculer" quite often.
