While cranking over the engine to verify pump operation in the start position I got two backfires?????
...on a engine that physically has no ignition or fuel injectors!
A bit of detective work finally figured out that my masking tape over the intake to stop junk from falling in was stuck well enough that it ripped loudly- whew, I don’t need anymore evidence that I might be going insane.
Just need to remember to put engine back on TDC at cylinder #1 before starting the tune later- good to circulate some oil though.
