A plan something like that is coming together. Multiple sites on the internet are recommending a concoction of Dawn detergent and hydrogen peroxide, others are touting the enzyme mentioned here. Mostly good reviews for the enzyme here - thank you. Most of what I read assumes you want to clean the rug but not damage it. This thing is trash if I can’t get the smell out, so damaging it is moot.
I’m going to get medieval with it. I’m thinking:
Throw it upside down on the deck, soak it with the Dawn + hp solution, scrub, rinse with the pressure washer (didn’t think of that, thanks Cliff), turn it over and do the same to the top. Suck the water out with a shop vac, soak it with the pee specific enzyme and let it work for a few hours, blast it again, shop vac it, and let it dry in the sun a few days.
Then I’ll go to work on the carpet (thanks Max).

I’m getting a new pad too, and spraying enzyme on the wood floor.
