Same here. We live in a rural area but our dog door (large enough for our St. Bernard) let’s them out onto our upper deck. From there they go down a flight of stairs to the fenced portion of the yard. Never an issue with critters...except for the one time one of them brought a dead possum in. Wife screamed, he grabbed it and ran back outside with it.
