With the brake lines the important part is what you can not see, the previous owner of my bike told me that about three years ago he was moving the bike in the garage and applied the front brake and the line developed a split, said visually they looked good. I'm not sure what they use for reinforcement in those original lines.
So was there a story why your bike sat for so long?
