Every time I read some financial advice article, I am almost immediately reminded of one of my favorite lines from Dazed and Confused.

"I'd like to think quit thinking of the present as some minor insignificant preamble to something else."

It's important to plan and be prepared. But life can turn on a dime. I've seen plenty of people delay their dreams only to pass before getting a chance to enjoy it.

So the key is balance. And this 41 year old guy in the article seems to have eaten more veggies than desert in his short life. The absolute financial downside for him is maybe $20K. Buy it, hate it, sell at a loss. Big deal. At some point, we have to live.
