If you have the means to set aside 2k - 3k for possible future repairs do so and add to it . In that scenario an aftermarket warranty is not needed . But if scraping that amount together is in the hard pile then maybe a policy is worth it .
Talk to the dealership that you use for service , and see what is available and what does it cover . Compare the cost vs paying for repairs on your own and the decision should be clear . Everyone's situation is different .
