Yes, what you see are pieces of same stuff ( jute padding) that is used under carpet in most cars/ trucks since waaaaay back when. I typically use a foil/ tar adhesive sheet like dyna mat directly on the inside metal panels with jute padding next, then the carpet.

In the tailgate, rear wheel/ quarter panels I use sound deadening that motoryachts use to insulate the cabin from engine room noise. That comes in sheets as well, but a little pricey
