Keep in mind, while #4 is on the compression stroke, the other 3 are still doing stuff..... filling with vapor, evacuating exhaust, pressurizing, and so on. Remember here, you are going opposite of normal engine rotatopn here to avoid jumping from side to side. Actual firing order is 1-4-3-2. So, 4 is on compression stroke, 3 is still venting on the exhaust stroke. If you go 180 deg CW on the pulley from here, (TDC on 4), #3 exhaust will close, intake will open, then close for compression stroke in #3. Check it out and let me know.
