Best emergency food
Has anyone thinking of getting a emergency food stash?
I'm looking at it as an insurance policy if SHTF.
At least six months per person but a year would be preferable.
mypatriotsupply.com is advertising on the radio and I'm looking over what they have.
How many calories per day? I'm using 1500/day as my baseline right now. This is for EMERGANCY rations. Maybe thats not enough but its better than starving.
One of my jobs handed out earthquake kits with food, water, first aid and some basic items (flashlight, gloves). This was 2010 and the food expired in 2015. I just opened up one of the packs and took a nibble. Its probably still good but I'm not going to finish it.
What I'm looking for is a Powerbar with a ten year shelf life. I want it portable, barterable, with no prep. Just open and eat.
