Two of the favoritest cars I've ever owned were an 88 900 Turbo and a 91 9000 Turbo. I look for them on CL but all you can find is convertibles these days.
I got the 9000T after the 88 was hit. I was on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, a 35 mph 4 lane road along the river. Was stopped waiting to turn left into a shopping center.
With a loud bang I was lying down looking out of the sunroof, my car 20 feet forward. I was OK, seat broke when this Mitsubishi hit me doing at least 35. Got out and saw the carnage, the entire front end: bumper, hood, fenders were practically gone on his car. You could see the engine with the hood crumpled up to the windshield. Would never own a Mitsu based on the crash alone.
I looked at my car and noticed the plastic trim strip on the bumper was broken. I thought I am sure I could get another. My car looked nearly perfectly fine. On closer inspection, the bumper was pushed in 2 inches, my seat was broken and the engine jumped off the mounts. Still I was able to drive home.
Fought with his insurance on value, they wanted to give me $600 (this was 2000 I think) finally found many other enthusiast owned vehicles like mine on saabnet.com and ended up getting $4400 and then bought the 9000T.
the 88 900T was a crazy fun little car that could haul ass and a couch. So fun to drive.
