For the reasons above I don't miss having a dog. In this part of the world we are less litigious. After a while I would avoid the off leash areas. Notices would be put up saying if your dog is aggressive then you should have your dog on a leash. Then why bother with the off leash area?
I sometimes used to go out to the country and let the dog off leash. Fortunately did not run into other dogs. Ideally for dog lovers I think an acreage is the answer. Looking back I was lucky nobody sued me. To avoid it keep the dog on leash. Off leash areas are not great areas because of the mix of dogs in terms of size and breed. Keep yourself, others and dogs safe.
