Wrong. Homeowners generally covers the owners negligence wherever it happens, unless it involves an excluded risk like a vehicle or a business.
But whadda I know, just did insurance law for 30+ years in a prior lifetime.
Umbrella's don't extend covered events, but they do extend the coverage $ of any policy underwritten by the umbrella...can apply to auto or h.o but rarely to a business related event unless its a commercial umbrella.
