Lots and lots of variations on the old Trapdoor that affect value and utility. Condition varies a good deal as well, obviously, with as old as these things are. Which model? Condition?
We used to buy and sell standard 1873's for a couple hundred bucks, 1884's with their improved Buffington sights for a bit more. Carbines always fetched more. Real Officers' Models are worth $10,000 or more today. H&R made some really good ones in the 1970's and 1980's, that are probably better than the originals, but worth a whole lot less. Good original rifles and carbines fetch over $1,000, sometimes $2,000 today. So, this may be a good deal, depending on what it is.
