How do they actually know that they're driving to make those sector times at 70% speed/time, and not 60% or 75%? Too slow and you'll lose out to your competitors. Too fast and you'll be penalized. It can't be something as simple as the pitlane speed limiter, is it?
It is based on time of arrival at sector zones, and they have a countdown on their steering wheel display.
