The battery disconnect in Post #1 is OK, just be sure the bolts are tight.
There are better ones though. I use a military-grade battery clamp on my forklift. And tractor. It requires that you crimp lugs onto the cables, sort of like in a building. They key is to make sure all connections are tight, or you can have problems.
