I owned a 1968 VW Bus for about six months in HS...1974/5.
Again, as much as I loved the visual appeal, the "thing", that "certain something", at a certain point you have to turn the ignition on and go.
I rebuilt the motor, added whatever flavor of "performance" mods available and it still accelerated like a tectonic plate with a top speed resembling the Queen Mary...the Queen, not the ship
