1) Going from stock cast iron cylinders to Nickies - saved 30lbs (and off the rear!)
2) Stripping the interior (lighter steering wheel, door handles/pockets, radio, speakers, antennae, ashtray, seat, parcel shelf, sides, sound deadening, lightweight carpet, lighter seats, etc) - saved 85lbs
3) Removing A/C - saved 60lbs
4) Aluminum decklid, license panel and bumpers - saved 17lbs
5) Hi-torque starter - saved 7.5lbs
6) Fiberglass engine tin, removed snorkel and air flap, ST cover - saved 7lbs
7) Alloy brake calipers - saved 5lbs

I also have a lighter spare tire, no tool kit, no jack, single battery, no frunk carpet, no water bottle/window sprayer system, SSI's and sport muffler. I stuck with 6" Fuchs all around. Also, I have the early Mag 915 gearbox and stuck with the early Mag case for my motor build, plus a lightweight clutch pressure plate. The MFI pump is heavy but I wanted to stick with MFI

I added weight to the car with larger torsion bars, front and rear sways (T's didn't come with them) and a front oil cooler setup. Could have been even lighter - but I think I need these upgrades!

After these things, it gets more difficult and expensive to lose weight.
Very nice! That's quite an undertaking. Any idea what kind of power your motor makes?

Mine is a 911 transmission, I believe original to the car, and a '77 case (mag?) that was rebuilt in the mid-90s with a pair of triple throat Webers, long prior to me taking possession. I am running 15x7s all around which were rubbing due to the 65 height tire the car came with which I replaced with 205/55s all around.

It had an old OEM muffler that I swapped for a dual in/single out M&K exhaust. I too don't have a carpet in the frunk (threw it out - smelled bad; didn't feel a need to replace).

I plan to order the lightweight battery mount kit from Patrick Motorsports as this car has an oversized, poorly mounted Optima dropped where the charcoal canister mounts.

The two prior owners did most of the "heavy lifting" on the build. I've just been slowly refreshing/fixing things.
