I was at the USGP in Indy back in 2005 with the tire protest when half the field didn't race because Michelin wouldn't guarantee they tire to withstand the loads after several bad crashes in the FPs. Baku yesterday was very similar. I imagine the team's are going to have some serious discussion with Pirelli.
Finally some bad luck for Hammy that was actually driver error. Reminds me of the season a couple of years after he got to Mercedes when the rules forbade the engineers from setting the bite point on the clutch for the starts and he was having such horrible starts that mysteriously the rule was changed.
The race ran so long that it was 37 minutes into a rerun of Sports Center. So before the last drop of champagne hit the podium floor ESPN thanked us for watching. I really wish another platform would buy the broadcast rights
