I once had 2 mls of immunoglobulin injected into my index finger. That was painful. (they were trying to get 10mls of it as close to the tip of my finger as possible) It was about 20 injections all around the finger. immunoglobulin is a thick fluid and requires a big fat needle. I've had lots of shots over the years, but that was the worst. I don't remember the pain, but i do remember that when the intern took a short break after giving me the first mil, I assume, to go consult the Dr, I got tunnel vision. What I could see shrank until I could only see a small spot on the wall. Everything else was black. I'd never experienced that before or since. Then he came back into the room and gave me about 10 more pricks. When he got done, my finger looked more like a sausage, swollen and completely smooth. immunoglobulin was beading up on the outside of the finger at every injection site. Then they put the remaining 8ml into my arms, 4ml in each delt.
