The Tomcat kills seem a bit exaggerated Iran did shoot down a lot of Iraqi planes with it, 160 seems a weeeee bit on the high side.. That's the propaganda number, not a verified number.
a more conservative number of about 55 +4 by the USN seems more realistic. Not bad considering foreign pilots and the lack of OEM support or parts.
At the same time, no Tomcat got shot down that is recorded, other then by Iranian friendly fire with Hawk SAM, so it's Air to Air kill ratio is on par with what the F15 has for air to air.. a great many to 0 losses.. In a war that wasn't as one sided as many of the fights where the F15 scored it's kills.
Oh well, it's just numbers innit
