We went for a short hike for Fathers Day today. We did a hike in the Porcupine Hills which is a sorta remote area and not well travelled. This was the area where we cut our Christmas Tree the last few years and we wanted to explore some more there. This went well… until it didn’t.
A rear coil over shock in my wife’s Tribeca either bent or broke… the coil spring has a 90° bend and is rubbing on the wheel. We were 4 miles off the highway, no cell coverage, and needed a tow truck.
I found a spot where I could get one bar of cell service and we called a tow truck and some friends to come ~100 miles to get us (can’t ride in the tow truck)…
We bought supper for our friends and when we got home, the Tribeca was in the yard waiting for us.
The parts have already been ordered (with one bar of cell service) while we waited for rescue.
It was a Father’s Day we won’t soon forget.
