Can you get a window unit for her bedroom? At least one room cool is a great thing in the heat.
My first apartment had AC only in the bedroom. It was a small AC unit, about the power of the one in my El Camino. It would keep my bedroom to 78 or 80 which is great when it is 100+ in the rest of the apartment.
It was a real dump of an a garage apartment. 12 steps from the front door to the furthest corner. It had a fridge, stove, bedroom, and bathroom. All for just 90 bucks per month. That is $372 bucks per month in 2021 money.
