NO I DID NOT SAY THAT...The shut down DUE TO CV was the causation of the shutdown of the economy resulting in the loss of employment where large numbers of people were unable to pay their rents. The govt in order to maintain CIVIL ORDER of not have large numbers of homeless people..opted for a RENT MORATORIUM so that people could continue to have a home.
The shut down has nothing to do with Socialism or capitalism.. The SOLUTION for better or worse was Socialistic with rent, mortgage, credit card, car and student loan moratoriums. Along with sending stimulus checks to everyone and enhanced unemployment.. Was it necessary to help support people under those circumstances..if the govt did not take the action that it did...a huge number of people would be homeless and hungry today leading to the instability of civil unrest. Also the help given kept the economy from completely seizing up. It put some money in peoples pockets..
It is what it was and is..with out value judgement being placed. Even Kudlow the revaunchist capitalist was talking socialistic solutions..So the US has arrived at being a Socialist nation with a whimper and not a bang..
