1990C4S - Yes! The Engineering Explained channel on YouTube has some excellent videos. I consider his approach to be neutral and not biased either way for or against gas or electric. He uses some sound math, states his assumptions clearly, and presents some good information.

Free charging is definitely a thing. I expect it's something which will disappear over time, but for now it seems to be a good incentive for some stores, shopping malls, and businesses to offer free charging to bring in customers. My employer offers free charging at work for the handful of EV and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) owners on the staff. I can manage my commute to work and home again on electric with the PHEV. I haven't filled up with gas since February!
