When I was a kid (10? 11?) the kindly neighbor man across the street asked me if I wanted to make a few bucks digging so he could repair a ditch gate.. Probably half a days work for a little kid.
I got started, he came by a couple of times to see how the work was progressing.
About the third time he dropped by, he told me I was working too fast and I needed to slow it down if I wanted to make enough money to make the job worthwhile to me. I was being paid by the hour.
(What I didn't mention until now, he was THE head of the Teamsters for the region. That was his job and if his lifestyle was any indication, he was pretty damn successful)
So, to the OP's point, yes you can work too fast, unless you're lazy like me and just want to get the job done so you can go hang out with your peeps.
