I have never had that happen on any car. The door stops haven't worked for years. I have to hold a door open with a leg or foot, or else it closes automatically.
The motor and transmission are fine (after they replaced the engine block at 9.5 years due to fine cracks leaking out coolant). But the rest of the car is not so quality-made.

This is interesting, I have a 2006 Civic Si coupe, first release of this generation. Outside of the paint which was covered under recall but I think because my car lived in the garage during the first years didn’t show any issues, it has gotten worse in the 2nd half of its life living outside. Beyond that it’s basically maintenance items and little things from age. This past summer the headliner started to droop, probably from the long Texas summer with the tail end facing west getting afternoon/evening sun. And my driver door lock does cry a bit when locking but mainly because I’m lazy to pull the panel to lube it. Outside of that it has been abused for the 154k miles. I had to replace the clutch after I cracked the trans bell housing going off road at a beach parking space, didn’t see that the pavement was about a 12inch drop to the sand…that hurt hearing the whole body slam on the pavement. But because I was moving fast enough slide off to continue into the sand parking.
I’ve been keeping eye out on the new restyle, much cleaner and more pedestrian than the ugly ass plastic fake intakes front and rear of the previous gen. God that was so damn ugly and the fact that ugly was mirrored front and back you had to see it coming and going! If I was to upgrade it’ll be for the next Si and it will only come with a 6spd. The only negative I have is that it’ll likely be turbo charged and direct injected with all the nannies. I love my port inject, no fuel dilution issues motor and having a car with just ABS. I’m torn with keeping old cars that you drove or moving into the 21st century with a car that your just a passenger.
