Thanks guys for looking into this. I realize that this is limited to those of you who have cars that are ready to be chopped, which are rare to be free of typical rust. Anyway, this is what I'm looking for: The sheet metal around the passenger door jamb catch as well as the connected metal behind it. I'll outline this area with a sharpie and take a picture and post it asap. More specifically, I need the area from just below the vent, down along where the jamb meets the rear quarter, across several inches below the catch (I wish I could draw a picture). This part also flanges to the firewall (near the upper seatbelt attachment) I would need a few inches of that too. I would also need the angle bracket that is welded behind the catch. I think this wouldn’t be a big job to cut, I would probably use a sawsall or air tool and cut out a little more than I need, that way I can trim it down to splice it in. I’m not in a huge rush, hoping to find a donor in the next few months. As far as $, I don’t have a reference of what this part is worth cut from a car, I haven’t seen it sold but Tweeks sells the L and R jambs for $130 a pair, the entire panels. I can tolerate a little bit of rust but not if it is rusted thru. The bracket behind the catch seems to attract rust and crumble, so that would need to be intact as well. Let me know if you are still tempted to try this and I can give you more info. Again, I will show this in detail with a photo.
Thanks
