You should always attach the tow strap to your vehicle to be towed.

Always let the owner of a car you are towing attach the tow rope to his vehicle. (See above)
Lesson#477
An aftermarket Jeep tube bumper improperly installed can travel over 50 feet thru the air when snatch strapped for vehicle "removal" from being stuck in the mud. Ask me how I know.
