Agreed.

Multiculturalism..in limited amounts..can bring the best parts of the world to any area. I've had the best French pastries and Indian curry in Japan for instance. Technology from the USA has benefited everyone, everywhere. Learning a new thing from those who do it best has usually been beneficial.

The problems occur when the newer sub-groups decide to become dominant and disrupt the whole in their own self-interest. I will leave it at that.

There are basic requirements for multiculturalism to work at all. Almost all cultures have made simple rules which work for their societies, such as peaceful co-existence, not destroying everything around ones self, adapting to and at least respecting the traditions of the host nation at least partially, etc. Change happens and different cultures take the lead, but the way it happens is the primary determinant on the entire continued success of the locale. There are too many examples in history of this not happening and entire societies disappearing forever.
