Dallas ISD makes it mandatory for students to get a whole laundry list of vaccines or they cannot attend (is always a huge headache for the school nurses and administrators during the first few weeks of school), but I don't think COVID vaccines have made it on that list as of yet (not sure about that, however). I assume that the same applies to many/most school districts throughout the country? In other words, at least for yutes who attend school, mandatory has been a norm for a long time.
Personally, I don't like the sound of "mandatory" for anything, even though I typically comply with mandates.
