to be honest, it's odd that he keeps getting in scraps with the same cat, normally they have scraps with roaming ferals and tomcats..
But typically house cats will actively patrol at avoidance intervals, eg, they will go out at times when they are not expected to run into one another.

I didn't witness this specific incident (or the two before it!) but I have seen the cat in question get into it with others; had to break it up with a garden hose once.
Taking these guys to the vet is a PITA right now - everything is booked up until late August. I normally could call or just show up right when they open, to drop him off for when they have some time for him; not this time. I had to take Percy to the emergency vet, where it's $200 just to walk in the door, and then a 4-hour wait.
Now
this one has managed to get some sort of gum/tooth/mouth issue in the past day or so on his left/lower jaw. He won't let me get a good picture of it.
