Many millions cannot get the vaccine. Allergic reactions or other medical reasons, religious beliefs. They are only protected by others being vaccinated. My nephew is one with many allergies. He nearly died from an antibiotic as a baby (ear infection). He has yet to be vaccinated. He may get the Novavax when it gets it's EUA.

Breakthrough cases are generally mild and viral load should be far less than an unvaccinated person. Not enough current data to prove if that is the case.
