I sure hope everything will work out for you at the end, Rocket. Like many said, just go and get another crown put on and be done with it instead of digging through the pile of siht.
Good point!
Tell you what rocket- I've been blowing up your thread with stuff. Truth is, I've pulled about 12,000 teeth to date, and had patients swallow over 3 crowns, and two whole teeth. I kid because of familiarity. Some if it, quite scary. In my situation, if a patient calls in and says "I have a crown off" I assume nothing. It really could be as simple as a recement or- the entire tooth is broken at the gumline.

As far as crowns go, gold is a wonderful material, but, if the crown is worn through, or, if there is decay around the margin, there is no reason to recement- better to start anew.

If I were in your shoes, I'd have a real dentist evaluate your remaining tooth to see if it is worth ruining your colander to save a dead horse.

You are also more than welcome to send me a pm of pics of your remaining tooth to see if it is clinically even a viable candidate to recement the current crown.

That being said, I do love gold!

Either way, have a good track weekend!
