Help me here. I’m all for electric and am excited to see the future on this ...but....how is this considered “green” technology? Massive amounts of fossils fuel, is required to make these batteries from the mining operation, plastic casings for the batteries and wires, smelting the ore for the batteries and wires, etc.
And then, the damn things have to be charged with electricity that will most likely come from a fossil fuel power generator.
It’s not green energy....it’s an alternative source of power delivery. A damn cool one but not one that’s going to save the world from fossils fuel usage. Why would there be that much invested in a bank of batteries that can only store enough power for 8 hrs of reserve for a town? Doesn’t make sense to me.
