Yes, but...

All adults have had the opportunity to get vaccinated. In the US, it is free and there is no obligation after you get the jabs. There are enough people who have been vaccinated to see that the vaccine is NOT deadly and does not have any adverse side effects.

Children under 12 cannot be vaccinated against COVID-19 just yet. HOWEVER, the mortality rate on children is extremely low. They are not as susceptible to severe sickness and death from COVID-19 as people who are older. The same older people that have high availability of the vaccine.

If you haven't gotten the vaccine, and you get sick, that's on you and no one else. YOU are responsible for whatever happens to you, not the state, not the government, not anyone else - but you. You made that decision to not get vaccinated, and if you get sick, you cannot plead ignorance.

I do not wear a diaper to protect a baby from soiling himself - similarly, I don't want to wear a mask to protect someone from getting a virus when they have had every chance to obtain protection themselves.

That said, I will continue to wear a mask when I am with people that are most vulnerable. Case in point: I visit a nursing home weekly with my friend to spend some time with her mother and aunt who are suffering from alzheimer's. While 80% of the residents of that nursing home have been vaccinated, I do not to take any chances with them.

Just my $0.42...
