This is about a 1988 G50.
The previous owner of my car, or their mechanic, seems to have cut a large chunk of plastic out of the rear of the air filter housing.
It's the engine side, so it is potentially letting dirt past the filter.
I am mystified why someone would do this, but maybe they were trying to get to a hose behind it. See the blue ribbon in the picture below, it says Uro.
I am wondering if it is really difficult to remove the damaged part or not.
If I decide I DGAF about originality and/or it turns out to be NLA, or I just can't put it back together, is there an easy way to connect a conical style filter directly (not a K&N)?
