My father in law wore sneakers doing commercial flooring for 45 years. I asked him about it one time.
"Son, I am not blowing a few hundred dollars on a pair of boots that will have the top of the toe wore out in a month"
You crawl around on your hands and knees a lot. When he got his first knee replacement, the guy assisting asked the surgeon why they were going to replace a knee on someone who obviously could not be walking, as trashed as the knee was.
My knee hurts just thinking about how his xrays looked. Said it felt better the day after surgery than it did the day before, which is crazy.
