I'm not going to waste time reading all of the posts in this thread but this one jumped out at me; if the MD you are referring to is a pathologist, then no, he does not see live human patients, ever. Pathology is a very specialized and demanding discipline in medicine and they do not treat patients.
Anyone with actual medical knowledge would know this. In my case, it's because my sister was a dermatological pathologist, (a sub-specialty within a specialty), the advantages of being a pathologist beyond the high pay are that they work regular hours and are never on call. She was pregnant with her third child when she did her residency at Mayo Clinic, she designed a life for herself where she could be a mother as well as a professional. She has never had a DEA# to prescribe medication and has never examined a live patient.
