I'm ahead of the curve at work on EV batteries but at home my daily driver is 27yrs behind
I'm not entirely convinced EV's are the answer to a sustainable green future, to me people should be encouraged to keep the cars they have now for longer and drive less rather than exploit more and new resources from our planet to replace old with new without any change to peoples daily habits
This idea of course won't gain any traction as it won't generate enough company profits or tax
When my old Toyota hits 250k I plan to give it a full nut and bolt restoration so it can enjoy another 250k of life. Engine is diesel so I'm going to also explore running it on bio-diesel or recycled vegetable oil
Not sure how environmentally sympathetic my approach is compared to buying 2 or 3 new EV's over the same time span but I'm pretty sure I'll do less overall environmental damage
Anyway I like my old Toyota and can't think of anything newer or new I could replace it with that would do as good a job that my truck does for me.
