My home office is of course just a bedroom of the house, with no bed, just my office stuff in it.
Every other room in the house has a return, not this room. It it the hottest room in the summer and the coldest in the winter. I have a floor fan in the hall outside my office blowing into the room and that helps a ton. The ceiling fan is on, and it is not too bad in here temp wise.
If and when our compressor dies and we have to change to the new style of AC unit, I certainly will have the AC folks put a return in this room, and even add a second vent. Our master bedroom is way bigger than this room. It has two vents, and a return, and it is far and away the coolest room all summer. No one is in there all day, but it is extra cool. Of course at night that is a bonus.
