Since relays (and, for that matter, the connectors at the back of the fusebox) are held in place by friction, it is quite possible that a severe jolt has shaken something loose.
Yes, if the DME relay loses connection,you will lose power to the ECU and/or the fuel pump --> your engine will stop running.
