Some of the warmth with which one receives the actions of others returns to you.
What concerns me most in this day and age is how quick people are to assign the worst negative.
And lets say in court I was asked to quote someone.
Would not expressing how they said it be an important part?
There are words and phrases that without doing this will carry a different meaning.
And why are only some manners of speaking taboo but not others?

I understand that I've been making the other argument. I tend to be no-nonsense. I mostly say what I think. I'm also not bothered or offended by jokes that target just about anything (because I understand that they are jokes). Some of my buddies send me or tell me jokes that would make a lot of folks cringe or be offended. I'll laugh if I find them funny. I mostly don't give a sheisse about PC or cancel culture.
That said, I do try to refrain from offending people. There are jokes that I think are funny, but I would not necessarily tell those jokes to someone that somehow fit as the target of the joke unless I knew them REALLY well and knew that they wouldn't be offended.
PC and cancel culture can effe right off. At the same time, be courteous and do unto others...
And if you are the face/representative of a company or entity, and you want to remain in that position, don't put yourself in the position for the company to have to worry about "is he making us look bad or should that have been fine?"
I would not wear a shirt with my company logo and stand in front of a location or make a video for youtube while spouting off a bunch of inflammatory speech or displaying inflammatory images and NOT expect that to potentially have a severe impact to my job.
There is "how things should be" and "how things are" and to live in the world, you have to understand both and find your personal balance. Some folks will stand by their principals and say "I'm going to do X, Y, and Z because that's how it should be! The folks that don't think so can go to hell." And they have a point, but they also have to understand and be prepared to live with their actions.
this doesn't get less entertaining or any less true any time I watch it.
