The best you can do is leave sufficient space between you and the car ahead of you so when there is something in the road you can see it and get out of the lane. I realize that can be tough with idiots who see space (barely) for 1 car in front of you and cut in, but if it were easy everyone would have a nice car. Good luck - I hope the issue is very minor.
